Phocaean Red-Slip Hayes 10c
Description
Large bowl with straight walls. Thickened rim slightly offset above and below; thin ridge on exterior face.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale red fabric with very few inclusions: rare small, rounded, lime and medium light stone chunk observed. Thin matte slip, darker over rim, fine brush marks on interior.
Preservation comment
One sherd (3) preserves roughly 10% of rim and upper body and one nonjoining sherd (2081) preserves ca. 10% of base and small part of lower body. Clean breaks; thin, extensive film of encrustation on all surfaces.
