Spatheion 3A with late features=Bonifay2004 Type 33 (7th century)
Description
Thickened rim, rounded on top, with spiral concave band under rim; sharply tooled under rim to distinguish it from neck. Tall concave neck.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Very pale red fabric with frequent tiny to very small dark rounded and angular bits. Not Tunisian fabric so distinct from more common vessels of this form. Unslipped.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves entire rim, upper neck, start of one handle, stub of other. Slight, sparse abrasion but clean breaks; scattered specks of encrustation.
