Description
Small bowl. Straight walls. Thickened rim with small but sharp offset below.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Light brown fabric. Hard, fine; smooth break; abundant mica, mostly fine dusting with a few flakes visible, both golden and silvery. Very thin, even, dull slip is deep reddish brown but fired black around rim and very dark gray or black on inside. Smoothing bands on outside face of rim. Ephesus/Meander Valley?
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 14% of rim and part of upper wall. Slight, somewhat sparse abrasion and rare large chips; mostly clean breaks; large patches of thin encrustation mixed with dirt. Patches of secondary scorching on surface.
