Dark gray core, reddish brown surface (3-5 mm) but very surface fired to dark gray or black. Slightly coarse, very hard; granular to slightly hackly break; common, tiny to small, mixed white and dark bits. Unslipped; streak of white paint on outside handle?
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 40% of upper handle including point of attachment with rim. Moderate, extensive abrasion and pitting; somewhat worn breaks; thin, irregular, extensive film of encrustation.
