Late Roman Amphora 5
Description
Vertical, cylindrical rim, demarcated below by small rounded ridge, like a ring; triangular lip, slightly outwardly thickened. Slight excess clay on face of upper rim and lip.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fine, pale orange fabric, rather clean with few visible lime chunks (cf. KTH1096). Northern Palestinian: Caesarea.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 18% of rim and small part of shoulder. Slight to modern, extensive abrasion and minor scratching; worn breaks; extensive film of ecnrustation.
