Form and fabric related to Kenchreai RC22/Torone 7 but shape of handle attachments varies; perhaps late (5th-c.+) version.
Description
Cylindrical neck, slightly bulging. Vertical loop handle, oval in section, attaches at middle to upper neck and to shoulder.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Reddish yellow but fired slightly more pale at very surface; somewhat soft, gritty; slightly granular break; uncommon to common, tiny to small, mixed lime, red, and rarely black inclusions; faintly golden micaceous; even, somewhat thick, matte, white slip over outside. Sloppy manufacture, with clay smeared over surface.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves one handle with upper and lower attachments. Slight to moderate, sparse abrasion and rare scoring; worn breaks; thin patches of encrustation.
