Typological identification
Small handled amphora stopper
Description
Knob handled stopper. Just over half preserved in two joining shards. Knob handle is slightly chipped. Evidence of finger on knob handle during formation present. Slight spiral motif and cracking present on knob handle underside. Frequent gold micaceous flakes present on surface. Made in “Southern Argolid Fabric ”.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Usual LRA2 Argolid fabric; occasional lime chunks, glistening golden micaceous flakes visible on surface. Core fired pink. Surface pale with thin wash. Underside unspotted, with pre-firing scratch marks, and a small chunk of adhering excess clay.
Preservation comment
Two fragments preserve just over half of body; handle chipped.
