Typological identification
Small handled amphora stopper
Description
Amphora stopper or lid with pinched handle. Fine, hard, brown fabric with few tiny light angular inclusions. Thin, matte slip, mostly same color as clay though some variation with thicknes. From different workshop than most common form in the Threpsiades assemblage. Distinctive in respect to the four impressions at base of knob, by the color of the slip, and density of clay which makes object relatively heavy.
