- Phocaean Red-Slip Hayes Form 10A
- Description
- Large bowl with slightly curving(?) walls. Somewhat flat upper, slightly rounded outer, and rounded to flat lower faces. Faint grooves on interior and on exterior mark articulation with wall.
- Fabric, firing, and surface description
- Consistently fired orange-red fabric with occasional rounded “lime“ inclusions. Very thin matte slip on interior with brush marks, lighter brush marks on exterior.
- Preservation comment
- One sherd preserves ca. 8% of rim and middle to upper body. Slight, sparse abrasion and chipping around edges; slight, extensive film of encrustation.
