Typological identification
Unclassified Amphora
Description
Amphora with heavy toe. Slight groove/tooling marks top of toe from lower body; profile of toe is very slightly concave, slightly rounded lower face.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Very slightly granular fabric fired to very light red, occasional small subangular reddish and darker inclusions, some other tiny bits. Surface thinly washed and same color as fabric.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves entire toe up to lower wall. Extensive, slight abrasion and scoring; worn breaks; thin, extensive encrustation.
