Typological identification
Late Roman Amphora 2
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Standard LRA2 southern Argolid fabric. firing, and surface treatment. Note more micaceous than usual; fired slightly reddish, with faint gray firing cloud around upper neck and rim.
Preservation comment
Two joining sherds preserve 70% of rim and large part of neck and upper shoulder, with one upper handle attachment. Very slight, sparse abrasion and chipping around edges; moderately worn breaks; faint, thin patches of encrustation. Cloud of gray discoloration around upper neck and rim: secondary scorching.
