Description
Large vessels in LRC typically exhibit stamped decoration throughout series from ca. 400 CE through 6th century. Bands of repeated motifs or single central motif on floor deriving closely from African Red Slip. Hayes identified three stylistic groups (I-III) and catalogued a variety of motifs (palms; floral and geometric; animals; people; kantharoi; crosses and staurograms).
