Contents of Unit: POTTERY. Roman (1,773 frr., 17.97 kg): standard colluvial assemblage date range to Late Roman. ESA, ESB, ESC; unslipped pitcher; basin/jar; cooking ware; MRA3, LRA2, LRA5 amphora.
Contents of Unit: SMALL FINDS. Glass (4 frr.): 1 rim, greenish colorless (thickened, fire-polished lip); 1 body, greenish colorless; 1 body, light blue (ribbed bowl); 1 body, colorless, thin.
Contents of Unit: SMALL FINDS. Metal: 1 fr. iron point, hollow, rectangular (p.L. 0.065).
Explanation of deposition: Byzantine to Modern colluvium and topsoil over area of Octagon, mixed with disturbed fill inside intrusive WWII ditch with foxholes cutting down into Octagon.
