Description
Corner to middle portion of brick. One small, simple cross inscribed in single lines near left margin on one face. Other lines to right and below appear to be inscribed too and might represent other crosses. Recycled for use in a grave; patches of mortar remain from its original use in a wall.
Fabric, firing, surface
10YR 6/4, light yellowish brown. Somewhat soft, slightly coarse with rare, rounded sand and scattered voids.
Preservation description
One large fragment preserves front, back, and two edges. Slight, sparse to somewhat extensive abrasion, chipping, and gouging; slight, sparse encrustation.
