R. Weir: “Kraay’s (1976, pp. 82, 124) higher date of ca. 480 B.C. is preferable to the lower range of ca. 480–450 B.C. cited in the other works because helmeted-Athena reverses of this style are both die-linked with the earliest staters of Ambracia (started ca. 480 B.C.) and the latest Corinthian coins in the Isthmian deposit sealed by the destruction of the Temple of Poseidon (closed ca. 475 B.C.).“
