Type
Inventoried Object
Logical part of
Inventoried Objects from the Greek-American Excavations at Koutsongila
Description
Thin strip of bronze with straight sides that flare outwards toward bottom. Outer surface has even rows of diagonal dimples delimited above and below by incised lines. Judging from its height and measurements of similar thimbles, we estimate lower and upper diameters at around 1.6 and 1.2 cm.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves roughly one-half of the thimble, bent. Slight bronze disease; slight encrustation.
