Dressel 1 Amphora
Description
Short triangular rim, undercut with tooled ridges (visible on underside); rounded lip.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric (core): 2.5YR 7/6, light red; (surface): 2.5Y 8/3, pale yellow. Hard, fine fabric with rare mica and very rare, small, poorly sorted, angular white inclusions. Not Campanian; south Italian?
Preservation comment
One small fragment preserves small part of upper neck and ca. 25% of rim. Slight chipping and abrasion; very slight, extensive encrustation.
