Description
A popular form of Late Republican amphora that was produced chiefly in central to southwestern Italy but also in a limited capacity in coastal Gaul and Spain. Tall, cylindrical body with distinct or ridged carination at shoulder, solid spike, cylindrical neck, a heavy, collared rim, with tall vertical handles, oval in section. Distribution chiefly in central to western Mediterranean, but not uncommon in southeastern Europe.
