Description
Amphora with squared, outward-thickened rim and conical neck; arcing strap handle with elliptical section. Impressed oval panel on top of handle bears stamp of Knidian origin in raised letters: παιδίων | Θευδώρι|δα (“[product of the slaves of Theudoridas“).
Fabric, firing, and surface description
5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Hard, fine fabric with frequent, very small to small, pink, white and black inclusions, some sandy. Thin, pale slip as wash brushed over surface. Cf. KP122 and KP369.
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves 33% of upper handle and ca. 50% of upper neck. Slight abrasion; very thin, extensive encrustation.
