Description
Molded relief ware, figured bowl. Perhaps Corinthian product, but the color of the fabric is unusual. Molded on lower to middle wall in low relief, raised band below: male figure striding right, right leg over left, with left arm bent at elbow and outstretched to hold indeterminate object below. Probably striding Eros or dancer motif.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/4, light reddish brown. Slip: 5YR 5/6, yellowish red. Somewhat soft, fine fabric with rare, very small white inclusions. Thin, uneven, somewhat dull slip, abraded in places.
Preservation comment
One small fragment preserves small part of figured frieze on wall. Slight abrasion; slight patches of encrustation.
