Description
Thick, high false ring foot with high bevel on outer face; flat underside. Ovoid to globular body with short cylindrical neck. Slightly everted rim with angular lip. Loop handle, rectangular in section, with irregular grooves. Irregular, vertical gouging over faint grooving on middle to upper body. Dip-slipped down to lower body.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/6, light red. Slip: 10R 5/8, red. Somewhat soft, medium-fine fabric with common golden mica flecks and rare, small, tabular and spherical, white (calcareous) inclusions; slight spalling. Thin, uneven, dull slip. Regional?
Preservation comment
Intact. Slight chipping on handle and base; slight to moderate, extensive encrustation.
