sim. Slane2008a, pp. 237–239, table 1, fig. 1 (fabric of KP225 seems to share qualities with Slane’s “normal Adriatic” fabric; east of Theater, Corinth, mid-2nd century to ca. 275 CE).
Description
Rounded shoulders. Narrow, cylindrical, tapering neck. Flaring rim with thickened, beveled lip. Oval, spined handles attach to shoulder and upper neck.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 5YR 6/6, reddish yellow; (exterior surface): 7.5YR 7/4, pink. Somewhat soft, smooth, very fine fabric with common mica and rare, small, subrounded to angular, white inclusions. Northeastern Italian/Upper Adriatic.
Preservation comment
Three joining fragments preserve large part of one shoulder, entire neck and rim, one entire handle, and one upper handle. Slight chipping; slight to moderate, extensive encrustation.
