- Description
- Amphora. Rounded shoulder. Loop(?) handle, oval in section, attaches at shoulder and up to neck. Red dipinto in cursive script across upper shoulder, up to turn to neck and alongside handle.
- Fabric, firing, and surface description
- Pale pink core and interior, buff surface; consistently fired. Very fine, hard; smooth break. Very rare, tiny, black and gray(?) bits; rare, small, subrounded, white (lime) inclusions; rare, small, rounded voids; dense, tiny golden mica flakes. Finely smoothed surfaces but excess clay around handle.
- Preservation comment
- One large sherd preserves large part of upper body and shoulder with lower attachment of one hand. Slight, sparse abrasion with chipping; worn breaks; extenseive, thin, gritty encrustation.
