Description
Roman Egyptian amphora for wine with piriform body tapering downward to heavy spike, shoulder tapering upward, tall cylindrical neck with small triangular rim, two loop handles, oval in section, attached to upper neck. Brown, hard fabric with limestone fragments, flecks of golden mica, and elongated vegetal voids. Made in Nile Delta (Mariout) and Lower Egypt.
