Description
An Early to Late Roman amphora with an ovoid body with prominent ridging, a short spike or knob toe, a conical or tapering cylindrical neck with a grooved, flattened rim, and distinctive widely-curving loop handles, round in section, with grooves. Manufactured in Eastern Mediterranean; geographic distribution might suggest Aegean or Pontic origin.
