Description
Heavy amphora spike, tapering to finished small flat end. Fainting turning marks.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale red, fired slightly more yellow in areas; dense, hard, coarse fabric with smooth to vaguely conchoidal break; frequent, small to medium, subrounded to angular, dark (gray, red, brown, some possibly volcanic) chunks and some varied medium to small lighter inclusions; small flakes of golden mica..
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves entire toe. Slight, sparse abrasion and gouging, minor chipping around edges; somewhat worn breaks; large, thin, irregular patches of encrustation.
