Description
Square frame with square section is integrated with smaller rectangular body. Prong with plano-convex section attaches to frame and body in simple hinge joint. Front edge of body displays band of parallel notches framed by transverse groove. Underside of body has one flat, semicircular loop for attachment to belt. The small size of this buckle means that it could not have been part of a waist belt, but rather was fitted on a small leather strap or bag.
Preservation comment
Intact. Very well preserved.
