Description
Middle Republican wine amphora. Piriform body tapering downward to solid spike two, sharply carinated shoulder, cylindrical neck with triangular rim and tall, vertical handles. Several subtypes (Will‘s A-E revised). Made in central to southern Italy and Sicily and widely distributed in central to western Mediterranean during mid-4th to mid-2nd century BCE.
